Becoming a Runner
|
Do you know someone like this??
"I hate running!"
"I have bad knees!"
"I just can't run."
So many excuses, so little time. If you know of someone who thinks it is not possible for them to run, but who secretly wants to be a real runner ... please direct them to TFP's Becoming a Runner program, starting in April. TFPers know that with a little bit of work anything is possible!

Bike Faster!
March is bike focus month for the TFP Fitness Challenge. Now whether you are in or not, can you improve your bike speed? Here are some ways to improve speed to heart rate results: |
- Drop your body fat - about every pound will help reduce drag, especially on hills!
- Bike more - the body needs to feel some stress in order to respond.
- Bike harder - you won't get faster if you don't bike fast!
- Bike different speeds and different heart rates - the body needs to practice at controllable efforts with some stress at times and at recovery levels other times.
- Improve core strength- a strong core equals stability on the bike, and it will help you hold your power.
- Improve strength - work on power building moves for the legs like lunges, leg presses, and squats along with quick moves like jumping.
- Don't skimp on recovery - massage, eat, drink, stretch, etc, help your body come back faster.
